About the Legal Aid Solicitor Network

An independent information and introduction service connecting people with solicitors across England and Wales.

We help people find the right solicitor when they need advice quickly. This website provides general information about Legal Aid and introduces users to independent solicitors who may be able to help, depending on the type of matter and your circumstances.

We are not solicitors and we do not provide legal advice. If you submit an enquiry, we may share the details you provide with one or more solicitors, who can then confirm what support is available and what steps to take next.

Legal Aid is not automatic. Eligibility depends on the issue, the stage of the case, and the rules that apply. A solicitor will assess eligibility and explain your options.

How we work

1. You send an enquiry

Tell us what you need help with and where you are based. You can keep it brief. If your situation is urgent, it helps to mention key dates such as interviews or hearings.

2. We introduce you to a solicitor

We may share your enquiry with one or more independent solicitors who may be able to assist. They can then contact you to discuss your situation and whether Legal Aid may apply.

3. You decide what happens next

If you choose to instruct a solicitor, any solicitor-client relationship and any fees (if applicable) are agreed directly between you and that solicitor. We do not control outcomes or make guarantees.

Important: This website is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Solicitors will assess eligibility and advise based on your circumstances.
